Website maintenance without the lock-in
Websites decay. Not dramatically, just steadily. A form quietly stops delivering, an image breaks, hours go stale, a certificate lapses, and nobody notices until a customer mentions it.
You are not locked in, and that is deliberate
Hosting with us is optional and has no minimum term. You can host the site yourself, move it whenever you want, and your domain is registered in your name and always belongs to you. We will never hold your domain or website hostage for any reason.
I am putting that first because the opposite is so common in this industry. Agencies that own your domain, host on a proprietary platform you cannot export, and hand you a ransom-shaped invoice when you try to leave. If the only reason a client stays is that leaving is painful, that is not a client relationship, it is a hostage situation. We would rather keep you because the work is good.
What maintenance actually covers
Monitoring, so we know the site is down before you do. Backups that have been tested by actually restoring one, because an untested backup is a rumour. Security patches and dependency updates. Certificate renewal. Uptime and speed checks. Small content changes, the hours and phone number and staff photo kind.
What it does not cover is new pages, new features or a redesign. Those get quoted, because rolling them into a monthly fee is how retainers turn into resentment on both sides.
The honest case for skipping it
A static site built the way we build them does not need much. There is no database to be breached, no plugin ecosystem to keep patched, and no admin login to be brute-forced. That is most of the reason we build this way.
So if you are technically comfortable and your content rarely changes, you can host it yourself for a few dollars a month and call us when you need something. That is a legitimate choice and we will help you set it up. Maintenance is worth paying for when you would rather never think about the website again, which is most business owners, but it is not a tax we pretend is mandatory.

Automated checks
Uptime, certificate expiry, form delivery and page speed watched continuously. Alerts come to us, not to you.
Updates
Dependencies and security patches applied and tested on a copy before they touch the live site.
Content changes
Send an email with what needs changing. Small edits get done the same day during business hours, which are 8:00 AM to 9:30 PM every day.
Backups
Kept off the server, and periodically restored somewhere else to prove they actually work.

Do I have to host with you?
No. Hosting with us is optional and has no minimum term. You can host the site yourself if you prefer, and if you do host with us you can move it whenever you want.
What does hosting cost?
It is priced per tier so you only pay for the infrastructure your site actually needs: $37 a month for a small site, $67 for a standard build, $97 for a large SEO-focused site, and $397 for full custom applications.
Who owns my domain?
You do. It is registered in your name and always belongs to you, regardless of the state of your account with us. We will never hold your domain or website hostage for any reason.
What if my site goes down?
We are monitoring it, so in most cases we know before you do and it is fixed before anyone calls. Static sites on a CDN fail rarely, which is a large part of why we build them that way.
Can I make my own content changes?
Yes. Every build ships with a content system for the parts that should change, like services, gallery, blog and staff. The layout stays locked, because that is the part that breaks when a drag-and-drop editor gets near it.
